Simulate absolute magnitudes following a Gaussian distribution.
- Parameters:
numStars (int) – Number of stars to simulate
mean (float) – Mean of the distribution
stddev (float) – Standard deviation of the distribution
rangen (numpy.random.Generator) – Random number generator.
- Returns:
mags – Vector of magnitudes.
- Return type:
float array
